New Federal Liberal party Leader Malcolm Turnbull’s first press conference. This is an impressive narrative.

After losing todays Liberal party Leadership Brendan Nelson should hold his head high.

Calling the snap poll Nelson showed himself to be a true leader. Even though he lost and goes to the back bench he has done the party a tremendous service. Nelson understands what former rock star & current Environment Minister Peter Garrett meant when he sang “Its better to die on your feet - than to live on your knees”.

Nelson’s leadership had been dogged by ongoing speculation that former treasurer Peter Costello would seek the leadership from the backbench. In Aussie bush terms Costello’s lolling about the backbench, destabilizing the Liberal leadership team has been a real ‘dog act’.

As it turns out John Howard knew what he was doing and did the Australian public a huge favour in not standing aside for the ‘patsy’ Costello.

Australian politics just got a whole lot better today with the election of Malcolm Turnbull [pictured] as the new Liberal leader.

The Liberals have elected the best man in the party for the job (more about that in another article).

The Coalition with Turnbull’s intellect, drive, focus and work ethic will give Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and the Labor party a huge reality check in the run up to the next Federal election due in 2010.

Today marks the 7th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the world trade Centre in New York.

We’d ask that you just take a moment to remember the 2,974 civilians that lost their lives that day.

Being the anniversary week we have seen a lot in the media. For example ABC’s 4 Corners program “9/11 the Third Tower” took an in depth look at the rampant conspiracy theories surrounding the attacks.

Radical Animal rights PETA loves to enlist celebrities to they’re cause. Australian Pop Singer Sophie Monk is one of them.

Monk a self confessed vegetarian in October 2007 did a naked advertising campaign for Animal rights group PETA. In it she bagged anyone who eats at KFC. In the video below she says:

“I think the message to KFC eaters [is that] you should think about what you’re eating. If you’re eating deformed animals that are being induced by hormones, you know, it can not be good for you.”

But Surprise, surprise - She has been snapped coming out of a Hollywood KFC with an arm full of ‘deformed animal’.

Do these celebrity do good’ers annoy you as much as they do me. All Monk is doing is tyring to increase her ‘celebrity status’ by working to destroy the livelyhoods on honest hard working poultry farmers.

Meanwhile while Monk ‘works’ on putting poultry farmers out of business she’s been looking after her own bank balance -
