Agmates Auctions / Buy Now allows you to conduct your own auctions.
Creating an Auction:
1. If you aren’t already - complete the registration as an Agmates User (your email address is your user name and write your password down somewhere so you won’t forget it)
2. If you are already a registered User Log into your Agmates Account -
3. To create an auction - Click on the SELL TAB.
Choose - Create an Auction - Buy Now Item
Step 1 - Choose your Category then Sub category. Choose your category carefully as this is the only step in creating the listing that you can’t edit after the ad is made.
*Note anything you enter after this can be edited from the actual Listing. As long as you are logged in you can edit the description or the photos from the links that appear at the top of your listings.
Step 2 - Now Type in the Title of your auction. This is a brief description of the item. You have 60 characters and the counter below starts at 60 and runs down as you type so you always know how many letters you have left.
Step 3 - Description - Now type in all of the details about the item. Give as much detail as possible.
Step 4 - Pricing
A) Start price - This is the price that will appear as the opening bid. It can be either at or below your reserve price. If you do not have a reserve type in 1. All no reserve items have a start price of $1. It is always a good idea to set your start price about 20% below your reserve (if you have one). Or you might set the Start Now price at your reserve so that after the first bid the item is on the market.
B) Reserve Price - This should be the absolute minimum that you will sell the item for. - be realistic if you want a result. Bidding can rise above the reserve and it will be noted on the listing that the reserve has been met. If you do not have a reserve on the item - type in 0
C) Buy Now Price - This is a great special feature. It shows bidders what price you are willing to sell the item for right now. Bidders who don’t want to wait for the auction to finish and who are happy to buy at the buy now price can click on the buy now and the auction is completed. The sale is done.
If you don’t want a Buy Now Price enter 0.
For example: On an item you might have
A Start Price of $80 - A Reserve Price of $100 and - a Buy Now Price of $100 (the same as the reserve) or if you have a rock bottom reserve of $100 but hope to do 10% better you would have a buy now of $110.
D) Bid Increment - You can set you own bid increment or we recommend just put 0 in and the default will apply. That default is -

Step 5. - Timing:
Select when you want the auction to start and how many days you want it to run for.
Step 6. - Other:
Select how many times you like the ad to rerun for if it has not sold.
Step 7. - Add for Photos or Video and your finished.
Auctions Fees
Auctions can run for 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 or 30 days and may be relisted indefinitely until sold. There are no auction listing or relisting fees - no sale, no fee.
Upon sucessful sale, a sliding scale success fee appplies:
Sale price…………………Success Fee
$1……………$100………5.5% (Minimum Fee is 0.55 cents)
$100.01……$500…….$5.50 on the first $100 + 3.85% on balance
$500.01……$1,000….$20.90 on the first $500 + 2.85% on balance
Over $1,000.01…….$35.15 on the first $1,000 + 1.85% on balance
Success fee’s are calculated on the 14th day of the calender month following the sale and charged to your Agmates account.
