Giant Fertilizer Company Incitec Pivot has used its market domination to rip millions of dollars out of farmers pockets.
INCITEC Pivot has almost trebled annual profit to a record ($614.3 million)……
Australia’s largest fertiliser maker’s net profit for the year ended September 30 hit $614.3 million, from $205.3 million a year earlier …….
Incitec had earnings before interest and tax of $969.1 million, more than three times fiscal year 2007’s $312.5 million, primarily reflecting higher manufacturing margins, the company said.
This is an obscene profit increase at the expense of farmers.
Still thats supply and demand when your a farmer. Pivot Supplies, then demands you pay any price they ask.
Incitec Pivot have clearly price gouged farmers as the manufacturers. Add that to the resellers making more than their fair margin at the retail end as evidenced by Elders recent profit announcement, farmers really have been the victims of corporate greed this last 12 months.

I really DO believe there has been and is a file in Canberra ” How to Wipe out Australian Farmers” , and Howard was part of it too in the ’90s. The conspiracy is between the governments and the multinationals. The GRAND PLAN is to have an EU style Asian Pacific Union. Australia is to be a mine and a nuclear waste dump and people in Australia will live in the cities and eat imported food.

Somehow we must weather the storm and be resilient because I do believe things are turning in our favour at last - the global warming nonsense is collapsing and the free trade WTO policies are being fiercely put down by many countries. We have more in common with many small farmers of the world than the treasonous b##tards that run our governments and corporate farming organiztions.
So much for Professor Fells and all the crapp at ACCC about the Pivot Incitec amalgamation not limiting competition. Fells needs to buy a farm and get screwed by the multinationals. If this crowd are not mutating stripe rust pathogens to wipe out crops that were disease free 12 months ago and a total wipe out this year without buying $mega dollars worth of fungicide I’ll stand on my head. Were doomed, fertiliser, PVR seed and no Wheat Board. Elders even lend us the money to let us plunge into their grasp. Its getting easier to be a cynic than a farmer
