Even Queensland’s highest crime body the Crime and Misconduct Commission has concerns about arming 5,000 front line Queensland police with Taser Guns.
A SECRET Queensland Police report on a year-long trial of Tasers has been rejected by the Crime and Misconduct Commission as a whitewash designed to ensure minimum controls on the approved full-scale arming of more than 5000 frontline officers early next year.
The Bligh Labor government and the bumbling police minister Judy Spense should be roundly condemned for the proposed introduction of the ‘weapon of torture’ taser guns.
The Bligh Government has been widely criticised after earlier this year announcing the widespread arming of police with tasers without waiting for the completion or findings of the secretive trial.
Across Australia, the weapons - which Amnesty International claims have killed 300 people in the US alone - are being introduced without parliamentary scrutiny and with little public debate.
The CMC is rightly concerned after it was revealed late last week that Police had used a taser on a child.
The stoush between the two Queensland law-enforcement bodies comes amid a CMC investigation into police officers who in April held down and tasered a 16-year-old girl who had defied a move-on order because she was waiting for an ambulance to treat her sick friend.
The CMC is very critical of the fact that Police did not mention the incident in the report.
Closed circuit television footage of the incident, seen by The Australian, shows an apparent breach of the guidelines in tasering the slightly built juvenile - who was sitting down in a garden bed the time - where there was no risk of injury to police.
I hope your all looking forward to in the not to near distant future being Tasered if you do not obey a QLD Police Officers instruction to move on, just like the 16 year old girl. Or how about just refusing to sign a speeding ticket like this guy in the US.
Police in every state and territory are using the devices - deemed by the UN to be instruments of torture - although Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the ACT restrict them to specialist squads.

I’m afraid to say but I think it is like that right across the nation. It is a terrible state of affairs and it appears very difficult to change. They do scare me.
I do believe that the Australian Federal Police have been involved in massive crimes and cover-ups - Mick Kealty has a lot to answer to but this government and the previous one protect him.
SOME Queensland police are out of control . September last year ( 2007 ) a police officer from the task force held a truck driver up by the throat in Applethorpe Near Stanthorpe QLD . The police officer choked the driver until he turned blue and the police officer then dropped the driver to the ground where the driver spewed up his breakfast . In the Stanthorpe court the police officer admited to his actions . When a complaint was made to the ethecial standards commision of the police force and the CMC they both said the officer had the right to use reasonable force . THAT FORCE WAS NOT REASONABLE > These police officers are bulliesand thugs and they should be stopped . I would if they used that sort of force on me use the same or more of the same force against them . When I was a kid I was told to trust the police now I tell my kids NOT to trust the police as they will stitch you up every time .
I heard last night on TV news that the NSW government has provided the NSW plice with $1 million worth of tasers.
Are they preparing for civil unrest in the cities with a collapse of the economy and massive unemployment in 2009 ?
The rulers of our fading empire will very likely have one last go at clinging on to their power and will very likely attack Iran - that will really sink the world economy.
