Todays Agamtes “Rooted” Article on Crikey
Greens Working to Help Farmers, Rural & Regional Communities Survive and Thrive.
.
In todays article we thank Greens Senator Christine Milne for working for Farmers, Rural and Regional Australians. Having said that, have a look at what “Raving Alarmist” Bob Brown is saying in todays media.
.
“The alternative-waiting for a lead from the rest of the world-will sacrifice the Great Barrier Reef, Ningaloo Reef, Kakadu and the Australian Alps in the short term, and threatens a 10-metre rise in sea levels, obliterating the Sydney Opera House foyer, Melbourne’s Docklands, Hobart’s Salamanca Place and the current habitat of millions of Australians.”

G’day Steve,
why is it that you are always full of praise for people who suggest things are not as bad as the IPCC’s conservative position, but full of criticism for those who are concerned that things could be a lot worse.
In fact, if he was oriented to the right then everytime he said anything that the politically correct mainstream politicians are too scared to say you’d give him an ‘onya’ award and gush forth “how great it is to have someone who really speaks their mind”
G’day MattB,
Mate you can’t have it both ways. The IPCC and their 2,500 scientists just last year in their 4th report said:
“The IPCC (2007) midrange projection for sea level rise this century is 20–43 cm (8–17 inches) and its full range is 18–59 cm (7–23 inches).”
Now Bob says 10m, and guess where he gets that figure from - Tim Hollo tells us James Hansen.
Its all about having some credibility. Mate its always the same word - COULD, MIGHT,
Its just a scaremongering bullshit statement and that is why the only media that will run it for him is practically the ABC.
I mean - MattB - its the week of the Garnaut report and the only way Bob can get it in a National paper is by a letter to the editor.
I’d don’t think I’m the only one who thinks its just “alarmist scaremongering”.
I mean if the IPCC said it as a result of scientific “peer reviewed” consensus - thats a different matter.
Cheers mate
G’day MattB,
Your partly correct. But only to the extent to win an “Onya” you have to do something that is in the best interests of Rural / Regional Australia and farmers.
Don’t forget that the last “Onya” winners were Green Senator Sarah Hanson-Young and Independent Senator Nick Xenophon.
Cheer up mate
