Agmates The Voice of Rural and Regional Australians on Crikey

image Crikey RootedCrikey has today launched its environmental blog “Rooted”. Among a number of contributors Crikey has asked Agmates to represent the views of Rural & Regional Australians.

.

Crikey is Ausralia’s largest online independent News Media with over 40,000 mostly Urban Australian paying subscribers to their daily news by email.

Crikey asked us to contribute as they wish to bring some balance to their coverage. Australia has a population of 21.5 million. Just on 9 million of those live in Rural & Regional Australia.

I founded Agmates because Australia’s Rural and regional population is to date largely ignored by the metropolitan centric mainstream media. Agmates is a totally free and independent media owned by myself and a group of farmers or would be farmers.

Here are the other Contributors to “Rooted”

* Tim Hollo - experienced environment campaigner with an intimate knowledge of the political side of the debate. Currently working as media spokesperson for Greens senator Christine Milne, though he’ll be posting here in his capacity as Tim Hollo.
* Anna Rose – National Co-Director of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition. Check it out here.
* Steve Truman – Farmer, blogger, and boss of www.agmates.com, a rapidly expanding online rural community. Need a cow or tractor? Steve’s your man.
* Clive Hamilton - a man who needs no introduction. You can catch up with Clive’s broad-ranging and impressive oeuvre here.
* John Hepburn – Australia Pacific’s energy campaigner with Greenpeace
* Ian McHugh - Climate scientist and occasional Crikey commentator. Currently working on his PhD at Monash University. Frequent journeyer into the great outdoors in search of knowledge.
